Here’s an attempt at writing an awesome bio... right below here:

I’m jay, the self-taught artist guy who ditched paper for computer screens about 4 years ago. Yeah, I used to do a little traditional drawing but all of that ended when I got a copy of Photoshop from an art teacher. Now imagine yourself using a really complex software that you have no idea how to use but all you want to do is make art… I mean, Artgerm versions of art. Thankfully the teacher sent some tutorials on how to use the software which was quite helpful and helped me to understand Photoshop a bit.

After getting comfortable with the software I began doing digital art in early 2014… and that’s how the rage quits started because I wanted to create art like, “this and that”. But I couldn’t, not as yet and it was frustrating. I mean, I thought of doing things to my pc that no one should ever think of. So during that period I stopped working on art and picked it up later down the year.

As an aspiring artist, I didn’t exactly know what I wanted to do and got a little confused. I think anyone would’ve if they were practicing: illustration, graphic designing, digital painting and photomanipulation at the same time… don’t judge me; I want it all, man. But I decided to prioritize photomanipulation, which wasn’t hard because I consider it fun and much easier to me.

I progressed a lot during my “below ameteur period” and decided to join Deviantart, which was a big step for me. I used to get discouraged even before I created an account and seeing those phenomenal works really put your “overlaid texture on a model artwork” to shame. But I still joined the art community of Deviantart anyway… and still got discouraged. But I turned discouragement into inspiration and learn to be inspired by the amazing artwork here on Deviantart art. I think a owe Deviantart a lot; it’s one of the reasons why I have progressed a lot also. It’s like my birthplace as an artist and I’m really grateful for that.

Now four years have passed since I started creating digital art. During that period, if you’re familiar with work you’ll notice my art style is consistent with a lot of lighting effects, colors and atmospheric scenes. My Inspiration comes from fantasy paintings, movies and animes or an artwork by my favorite artist. Sometimes I’m inspired by just a stock image. It could be just by the pose of a model, the position of rock or just by the killer look of a wolf—and right there; I picture them as to how I want them to look in an artwork. It doesn’t always turn out the way I wanted it to look but sometimes it turns out even better of how I expected it.

Many artists can vouch for me when I say life as an artist is not easy – it’s not a six months course that you do; it’s a course for life with a lot of ups and downs which can put a block on your art progress. The struggles are there, especially for an artist who is self-taught, and I can depict to that. Sometimes I feel like I’ve taught myself the wrong or the hardest way of doing something… Is there an easier way of cutting out an image? A teacher could show you a technique in about ten minutes to a student, while you went through like ten tutorials and still haven’t learned that technique. Well, in my opinion, the progression rate is much longer for an artist who is self-taught than others.

If you’re a beginner, know what you want to do - your aim might change later on but don’t start out wanting to do everything at once. Accomplishments don’t come overnight; you’ll have to work for that. Nothing is wrong if wanted to do something above your skill level so challenge yourself weekly or daily. Most importantly, have fun making art.

Current level: Intermediate

Software: Photoshop and Gimp

Digital art: Photomanipulation, mixed media, and digital painting.
I prefer to do fantasy, sci-fi, dark artworks, and with a mixture of everything.

I can't belive you've read all of that. You sure love reading, huh? :D
